Conceived as a "cottage industry" business in Watertown, MA., in the late 1960's and nurtured among the street vendors lining Berkeley's famed Telegraph Avenue, Folkmanis® Puppets are the expression of Judy Folkmanis' active imagination, sewing wizardry, and love of nature.

Headquartered in Emeryville, California, Folkmanis, Inc. has grown to become the premier manufacturer of plush puppets worldwide. Folkmanis® Puppets offers over 200 of the most heartwarming and realistically designed creatures — both exotic and familiar — on the market today. And, after more than 35 years, Folkmanis, Inc. is still a family business. Judy and Atis oversee both the creative and operations sides to ensure that the quality and love of the natural world they wish to convey through their toys remains true to their original vision.

"Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, a boy and a girl set out to create the perfect company. They traded her diamond ring to start a business dedicated to bringing fun and learning to children all over the world. Innovative Kids swept the land, and they all lived happily ever after."

As a company owned and operated by a husband and wife team, and staffed by parents, educators, and the young at heart, we strive to provide kids with materials of the highest quality, based on innovative designs and concepts that will grab their attention and provide a fun multi-sensory, hands-on, minds-on experience. Our award-winning puzzles, games, toys and books encourage discovery, inspire imagination, and enhance essential learning skills.

Jellycat was established in London in 1999 to create quirky, original and innovative soft toys for all ages. The name Jellycat was dreamt up by a child who loved jellies and cats and giggled at the thought of the two together. The silliness of the name was a great reflection of the design and so it stuck!

Not long after establishing ourselves in the UK, Jellycat Inc was set up in Minneapolis in 2001. Since then we have continued to work hard to combine the coolest designs with the most luxurious of fabrics, in the process creating thousands of wonderfully innovative soft toys.

Mike Rainville first came to woodworking as a hobby in the 1970's while he was in school. Working out of his parents' basement with scraps from his grandfather's carpentry projects, he duplicated household items, things like spool holders and cribbage boards. Before long friends and neighbors were asking Mike to make things and by 1979, he started selling wholesale. Local craft fairs also provided income and experience.

After graduating Clarkson University in 1984, Mike went to work constructing a new woodshop of ample size for his now full-time business, now known as Maple Landmark Woodcraft. The choice "Maple Landmark" as the name for the business was a natural extension of the name Mike's family used for their maple sugaring business and dairy farm, Maple Landmark Homestead.

In 2007, they added their Schoolhouse Naturals line — toys for little ones without any chemical finishes or decorations.

Top hat. Bow tie. Spats. Our Uncle Goose logo sports the affects of an upper class gentleman of the 1800's. The garb of our handsome Uncle Goose character evokes a spirit of fun and mischief, slyly tipping his topper to the fashion sensibilities of a bygone era.

Like our logo, we, too, are throwbacks to this simpler time. And we also appreciate the irony. Not many can be sophisticated and silly at the same time. Uncle Goose manages to do just that.

We're really in love with learning, design, and creativity. And we love blocks. So this is what we do, and how we approach our craft. It's simple, creative, old-fashioned, and maybe a little quirky; but that's the essence of Uncle Goose Toys.
