Drawing Hand is typical of Agelio Batle's work. In his offerings we find an inventor extracting the extraordinary from the ordinary. Pencil lead, dictionaries, globes, maps, old photographs - everyday artifacts such as these give us no expectation of inspiration. To find epiphany in mundane materials, poetry in the pedestrian, is the core of his work.

The investigative nature of Agelio's work may stem from his background in the sciences. He received a BA in Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Not wishing to pursue a career in science, he returned to his lifelong interest in art and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from California College of Arts and Crafts, graduating with High Distinction honors.

Angelio's graphite pieces are sculptures first and foremost, but also functional writing implements. Central to their elegance and functionality is a special blend of graphite that writes smoothly but does not smear on the writer's hands. They last for years of use, artful all the while.

By combining a love of music and many years of woodworking, Steven Catania creates, invents, and redefines musical instruments. His work reflects his appreciation for beauty in the natural world. He seeks to share the joy of playing a musical instrument with everyone by making instruments that a child or complete novice can play. Quality workmanship goes into each piece. Smooth finished, nickel plated keys and decorative additions such as handpainted beads showcase his distinct style.

Steven has been many things in his life, a woodworker, fisherman, tree planter, social worker, and musician. Owning his own business has always been his dream. Seeing the dream come to life on his secluded home site has enabled him to be free to explore the artistic and acoustic properties of natural materials from wood to bamboo. Steve is constantly trying new materials and ways of combining them. His work continues to evolve and grow as he explores the world with his wife and partner, Tami Catania.

My dad has been making wooden spoons since before I was born. I loved growing up helping him answer phone calls, pack orders, and travel to craft shows. It always felt like such an adventure.

My dad and I had talked about starting a business together for a few years when one day I pitched the idea of a wooden iPad stand. I had recently graduated from college and was struggling to find enough work to pay the bills. We thought it was an interesting enough idea to pursue a design. Within two years we expanded my line to include iPhone stands, book stands, and hair sticks (among other things).

My dad and I work together in the design of new ideas and the process of creating each piece. While most of his time is spent running his spoon business, my time is devoted to making iPhone stands (among other things), adventuring to craft shows, editing photos, and shipping orders.
